Animan el mito de Tezcatlipoca y lo musicalizan con Tchaikovski . El encuentro de un leyenda prehispánica con el romanticismo ruso.

CAPTURAS DEL AUTOR

Este cortometraje se dio en un encuentro digitalizado y contemporáneo entre la cultura prehispánica de México y la música del siglo XIX de Europa, es decir: un viaje entre líneas temporales.

En la parte narrativa se ve a la deidad Tezcatlipoca, de las culturas nahua y mexica, en una de sus transfiguraciones en animal, en este caso, un jaguar. Así, se sigue el viaje que emprende el animal dentro de las montañas y volcanes del mundo, observando sus movimientos decididos y seguros, con la misión de despertar un volcán y traer el inframundo a la superficie.

El lago de los cisnes, del maestro romántico ruso Piotr Ilich Tchaikovski y, “a manera de Fantasía de Walt Disney, busca combinar elementos de música clásica e imaginación creativa para contar el mito de Tezcatlipoca”, describe el video.

Creado como el proyecto de graduación de artes visuales y diseño de la Southern Adventist University de Robin George, director del cortometraje, Tezcatlipoca tomó un año de producción desde su concepción y fue estrenado en el 2009 en SIGGRAPH, el festival de animación computacional de Nuevo Orleans, EUA. I. THE PLAIN was grassy, wild and bare,
Wide, wild and open to the air,
Which had built up everywhere
An under-roof of doleful gray.
With an inner voice the river ran,	5
Adown it floated a dying swan,
And loudly did lament.
It was the middle of the day.
Ever the weary wind went on,
And took the reed-tops as it went.	10

II. Some blue peaks in the distance rose,
And white against the cold-white sky
Shone out their crowning snows.
One willow over the river wept,
And shook the wave as the wind did sigh;	15
Above in the wind was the swallow,
Chasing itself at its own wild will,
And far thro’ the marish green and still
The tangled water-courses slept,

III. The wild swan’s death-hymn took the soul
Of that waste place with joy
Hidden in sorrow: at first to the ear
The warble was low, and full and clear;
And floating about the under-sky,	25
Prevailing in weakness, the coronach stole
Sometimes afar, and sometimes anear;
But anon her awful jubilant voice,
With a music strange and manifold,
Flowed forth on a carol free and bold;	30
As when a mighty people rejoice
With shawms, and with cymbals, and harps of gold,
And the tumult of their acclaim is rolled
Thro’ the open gates of the city afar,
To the shepherd who watcheth the evening star.	35

BALLET: La Muerte del Cisne

Ana Pavlova

Es una pieza de ballet coreografiada por Mikhail Fokine sobre la composición "El cisne" de "Carnaval de los animales" de Camille Saint-Saëns en 1866. Inspirada por un poema de Alfred Tennyson - "The Dying swan". En 1905, la famosa primaballerina Anna Pavlova fue invitada a participar en una gran función benéfica y pidió a su amigo Mikhail Fokine que le aconsejara una pieza musical para bailar. Trabajó con él en este número de danza que ilustra los últimos momentos de un cisne herido. La pieza de apenas pocos minutos de duración se convirtió en número favorito de grandes estrellas de la danza clásica : Maya Plitseskaya, Natalia Makarova, Alicia Markova, Margot Fonteyn, etc...

Michel Descombey, bailarín y coreógrafo francés, siendo director del Ballet Teatro del Espacio (compañía contemporánea mexicana) en 1982 montó para Tonio Torres "Muerte de un cisne". Representa la fragilidad del "ser" reflejada en un ave, la fuerza y belleza del cisne que va mostrando su debilidad mientras muere.
